About Maya Devi Temple

Maya Devi Temple, one of the Shaktipithas in India, is an ancient shrine located at Haridwar in Uttaranchal. The deity of Goddess Maya Devi is worshipped with great honor. This shrine is also the Adhisthatri deity of Haridwar. It is believed that the heart and naval of Goddess Sati (the wife of Lord Shiva), who had burnt her self to keep the honour of her husband, fell in this place.
